Caravanning with Tryggve and Ulla

Tryggve came knocking at our door at eleven telling us that it was time to get ready for our day. Excited, we quickly got dressed and loaded up in the caravan. First stop, Thai food...this is the same place Hayley and Rachel came to when they were in Åland. What a coincidence ;)
We were off to see the island of Åland. We saw the biggest church in Åland, saw a castle built in the 1300, Russian towers for lookout, a Russsian fortress and we went the most east you can go before having to take a ferry. It was so much fun, even in the poring down rain! Nothing was gonna stop us from having a blast!
For the celebration of Ellen's 11th birthday Tryggve made delicous sausages. Oh man, here comes kirdys far face ;)
Afterwards, he spent a lot of time explaining the family tree to us with the family books. It was so special to trace our lineage all the way back to 1500!
Tryggve walked us home so we could say goodnight to the kids! But first, Ellen presented Kirdy with a gift - an Ålandish swim cap. Kirdy was so excited and had it on in seconds. But as she took it off, it split into in the front!! If anyone know how to fix a swimcap, please let us know!! We got a good laugh out of it though!
Our nightly discussion continued with Mona and Magnus. Sadly, this would be the last time we were able to conversate with them on this trip because we were leaving in the morning.
We had such an amazing time with Mona, Magnus and the family! Words can't even express the warmth and seance of family we felt with all our cousins on Åland! We know it won't be the last time we spend with Mona and the family! We are so thankful for them in our lives!
