Stig and Marianna

Sollan dropped us off at a newly painted yellow house that Bibbi, Max, Stig and Siv grew up in, but now it belongs to Stig, his wife, Marianna, their three children: Madelene, Josefine and Edvin, their dog, Chess, their two cats and their twenty or so chickens. What a cute farm house.

Madelene made apple pie for the family and us to enjoy - we love apple season here!!! The entire family was very nice and good company. They showed us to our own house down the road, one that is used to rent out. We stayed up late chatting with Marianna and Stigg after he showed us the family tree! It's nice to learn about our farmors side of the family!

The next day, we were off to explore! We saw a fortress that was used against the Danish, them went  to lunch (tried so hard to find a MAX, but failed)! Our road trip continued and we went to Norway (no big deal or anything ;) ), saw a circle of 2000 year old graves and then, after much searching, found the engraved rocks (they were painted for clarity) - "the 6 meter high rock" - haha. The stones were so old and carved before the Vikings! Ships were drawn with lines as people. It is believed this is how they counted the people who left by boat and how many returned. We made our three hour trek home, with a snack on the way, and, when we returned, dinner on the table - so good (thank you Marianna!). Max and his wife came over to meet us as well!

We continued with our nightly tea and news time with Stig and Marianna. We were tired after a long day and were excited to sleep.

Our last day at Stig's, he and Marianna showed us the place where Albert (our Farmor's dad) was born, where he worked, more graves (situated in a boat formation) and, finally, we made it to MAX - a true swedish fast food. Marianna helped us find the right train and now we are off!! It was so great to spend time with these two wonderful people!

Thank you all for meeting us and giving us great memories. We have such a great family!! We love you all!!

We have had an amazing time in Sweden! 3 weeks visiting family! Our travels now begin, can you believe it? We are currently in kopenhaven awaiting our first night train! We should be in Amsterdam in the morning! Bye bye Scandinavia!

Europe we are ready for ya!!!
